Very close to the fincas on the road to Cales de Mallorca is the prehistoric settlement of S'Hospitalet Vell.
In the Manacor Museum, which is located in an old 14th century fortified tower and manor house at the entrance to Manacor, you can see the excavated artefacts: many types of clay vessels, stone tools, jewellery and remains of the buildings. On the site itself, which is open to the public, you can see the huge fortified stone walls and get a good idea of how people lived and worked 4,000 years ago.
